Become the Happiest Person You Know

I am quite lucky in that I am a glass half full person; I choose to think on the positive side of things even when they are looking quite bleak. I read excellent motivational books and I recommend this one to anyone who is stuck in a rut... “The Success Principles by Jack Canfield”

As a Recruiter how we choose to start a new day can be our single most effective way to impact on having a good day, waking up with a positive outlook, hopeful about what is in store for us, excited about the opportunities that will be put in front of us today. In Recruitment we have to be positive as often as we can, when we call, when we meet a client, when we interview candidates and everyday when we face another day in the office.

Why go to work if you are not going to work in a great frame of mind. If you don’t like your chosen career then change it but if you are in a role that you like then be positive, those of you who work from home as an independent recruiter will know the feeling more than anyone else.... So when you are struggling, take a on board a few of these tips, I hope they help and remember...

Thinking Positive things makes Positive things happen

When you wake up, decide to be in a positive mood, think the day through and get ready for good things to happen

Smile... It really does help change your mood, it also takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown

Surround yourself with positive people. When you’re stuck in a negative moment, talk to people who can put things into perspective and won’t feed your negative thinking

Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive. For example, instead of thinking: we are not going to achieve our targets this quarter ,replace that with we will face some challenges in our office this month, but we will come up with solutions that will assist us in achieving our targets

Take 100% responsibility (Jack Canfield) you are in charge of your life so if something is wrong fix it.

Turn up the radio! Music for me can change my mood in a heartbeat, put some great songs on  when you’re in the car, in the morning or on your lunch break

Read positive Quotes

Watch your thoughts, they become words, Watch your words, they become actions, Watch your actions, they become habits, Watch your habits, they become your character, Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

Dress to Impress: Never under estimate the power of positive dressing.

Be a positive influence on those you meet. Offer your knowledge, help someone to set up a new business, give them some information you found on the internet or sometimes it can be as simple as a smile and a friendly “hello, how is your day?”
