Wellness programs are a huge selling point when recruiting new employees. Candidates want to work for an employer who cares about their well-being. And when current employees feel great about the workplace, they spread the word.

But if your employees don’t participate in your program, will anyone care? Probably not. And participation is a big problem. In fact, the biggest problem facing employee wellness programs is lack of participation says 52 percent of employers surveyed by Limeade, a corporate wellness technology company.

So how can you overcome the challenge of participation and get current and future employees jazzed about your program? To answer that question, Limeade compiled the infographic below.

Some highlights include:

  • 65% of employers see incentives as the most important factor to a successful wellness program
  • 45% of employers say friendly competition between peers is one of the most effective ways to drive participation
